Founder, Seam Group; TEDx speaker known as India’s ‘Lady Bodyguard’
Veena Gupta, a TEDx speaker, is the founder of the Seam Group of companies, with offices in Singapore, the United States and India. She is President of the NGO WESS and an instructor in women’s self-defence and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment). She is fondly known as the ‘Lady Bodyguard’.
A security and executive-protection practitioner for more than 25 years, she has been profiled as India’s first lady bodyguard. Through Seam Risk Solutions she provides bodyguard training and security services across major Indian cities, and she runs a self-funded self-defence school offering free training to the community, combining meditation with Karate and Krav Maga.
A law graduate and certified martial arts instructor, she is also a motivational speaker and counsellor. Her TED talk, ‘The accused can be a victim too’, reflects her wider advocacy on safety, justice and women’s empowerment.
