Most organisations have security written down somewhere. Fewer know what is actually being practised at the gate at two in the morning. A NISSMAT audit tells you the difference — independently, on the evidence, by people who have run security at national scale.
What this is, and what it is not. This is an independent assessment of physical and operational security. It is not a cyber or IT security audit. It is not a statutory fire safety audit or certification. It is not a certification of any kind — what you receive is an advisory report and an action plan.

How your people would actually perform. Drill observation and timing, assembly points and marshals, equipment serviceability, currency of the emergency plan.
Senior Security Advisory
Retained counsel for a security or administration head, from a bench of retired Directors General of Police and General officers.
Finally, a re-audit at six to twelve months confirms that the action plan actually closed, and tracks how the site improves over time.

Where a guarding contract exists, we also check the paperwork that tends to go stale — licence validity, training records and drill logs.
How we do it
- Scoping call. What you are worried about, what the site is, what is in and out of scope. No charge.
- Site visit. Observation on the ground, including shift change and out-of-hours where it matters.
- Documents and interviews. Policies, registers and logs read against what we saw; conversations with the people who run it.
- Report and debrief. Written findings, then a walkthrough with your leadership.
Throughout, we weigh risk the way the profession does — threat, vulnerability and consequence, against specific named assets — so you can argue with a finding and defend a priority.
What you receive
You receive a written report and a plan of action. Not a certificate, and not a pass or fail.
- Scope and method — what was assessed, what was excluded, and who conducted it, by name and rank
- Site profile and threat picture — the local conditions that actually bear on this location
- Findings by domain, with photographs — so a finding is a fact, not an opinion
- Every finding risk-rated High, Medium or Low
- A prioritised action plan — Immediate, within 90 days, and planned — with a suggested owner for each item
- A management debrief with your site or company leadership
Moreover, we write every finding as a required outcome rather than a named product or supplier — “evacuation time for this block must come under X minutes; it is currently Y”, not “buy brand Z”. How you close the gap is your decision.

The practice is led by Maj Gen Deepak Mehta, Director (Enterprises) — commissioned into The Rajputana Rifles in 1972, thirty-seven years in uniform, with command, staff and instructional appointments including an infantry battalion in Jammu & Kashmir at the height of the insurgency.
