Why this course exists
Around sixteen people die in fires in India every day, and in almost every workplace fire the outcome is decided in the first few minutes — before the fire brigade can possibly arrive. Those minutes belong to your people. The question is whether they have ever held an extinguisher under pressure, and whether your building has ever rehearsed leaving itself in an orderly way. For most organisations, the honest answer is no — even though commercial establishments are required to conduct fire training and evacuation drills every six months.

What every participant will be able to do
- Identify the classes of fire and select the correct extinguisher type for each — including the label-band system used in India, where every extinguisher body is red;
- Operate a fire extinguisher correctly using the PASS technique (Pull · Aim · Squeeze · Sweep) — and name the common fatal mistakes;
- Carry out their role in a disciplined building evacuation — routes, assembly points, headcount;
- Understand extinguisher inspection requirements and the legally expected drill cadence for their premises.

Fire safety officers and security managers; industrial supervisors; administration and facility managers; fire control officers in offices, hospitals, hotels, malls and banks — and any corporate team whose building has never rehearsed a real evacuation. Where P1 fits
India’s training ecosystem serves different needs. Professional firefighters train at the National Fire Service College, Nagpur; specialist institutes such as IISSM run multi-day classroom diplomas for full-time safety practitioners; and industry bodies like the Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) set the professional agenda. P1 addresses the layer none of those reach: everyone else in your building. It is deliberately a half-day, delivered on your premises, so an entire team — not one designated officer — learns to act in the minutes that decide the outcome.
The compliance angle
Indian commercial establishments are expected to conduct fire training and evacuation drills every six months (three months for high-risk premises), under state Fire Services Acts read with the National Building Code 2016. Penalties for fire-safety non-compliance range up to ₹1,00,000 and building sealing in Delhi, and fines plus imprisonment under Maharashtra’s Act. P1 provides the documented training and drill record those requirements anticipate — but its real product is a workforce that no longer freezes.
