Steve Vickers is an acknowledged expert on political and security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. He served for 18 years in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force before moving to the private sector, where as an entrepreneur he has personally led crisis management teams handling financial and other critical threats faced by multinational corporations.
During his police career he commanded the Force’s Criminal Intelligence Bureau, directing tactical and strategic operations against triad and organised crime groups and exercising operational control of declared kidnapping and product-contamination cases. He achieved the rank of Senior Superintendent before opting to leave the service for the commercial sector.
He is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Steve Vickers and Associates (SVA), a Hong Kong-based specialist risk mitigation, corporate intelligence and security consulting company serving financial institutions, private equity funds, corporations, insurers and high-net-worth individuals around the world. He remains a frequently quoted commentator on regional political and security risk.
