Rajeev Thakur
Founder, Grassik Search — pioneer of executive search in India
Rajeev Thakur is the founder of Grassik Search, one of India’s pioneering executive search firms, which he established in February 1993 after serving with distinction in a number of multinational companies. Early in its existence the firm executed the India-entry recruitments for McDonald’s and Coca-Cola India, assignments that catapulted it to instant success and recognition. He was recognized by the Economic Times among the 50 Most Promising Business Leaders of Asia 2020-21.
A marine engineer by profession, Thakur served over fifteen years in the Merchant Navy before coming ashore in 1987 as Chief Engineer of Hotel Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, New Delhi — then India’s largest hotel project. He went on to head Engineering for Gillette India and, turning entrepreneur in 1991, set up India’s first fully automated mushroom plant in the Shimla hills before founding Grassik.
Widely regarded as a doyen of the executive search industry in India, he is a respected career counselor and mentor who has helped professionals transition successfully across industries and roles.
