HS Pannu
Advisor – Corporate Security, Reliance Group; former UN Civil Police Commissioner
A 1975-batch officer of the Central Industrial Security Force, HS Pannu served as Head of Security in various industries in the central public sector. Handpicked in 1992 to lead the Indian police contingent in the United Nations, he was elevated to UN Civil Police Commissioner of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, commanding police officers from 42 nationalities until the mission’s successful conclusion in 1994.
Moving to the corporate world in 1996 as Reliance Group’s Head – Security & Vigilance, he envisioned and created the concept of centralised corporate security, earning him the popular title of the Father of Corporate Security in India. He created RGSS, Reliance’s centralised security organisation, serving as its first Director & COO, established the RGSS Academy, rose to President of Global Corporate Security at Reliance Industries, and is presently Advisor – Corporate Security to the Reliance Group.
A recipient of the President’s Police Medal and the United Nations Police Medal, as well as the Best Security Manager Award in India, Pannu draws on over 46 years of experience across virtually every security scenario.
