Dr. Sarah Jane Fox

Lecturer, Leicester Law School; Director, Centre of Professional Policing

Dr Sarah Jane Fox holds a PhD in Law, with research specialising in regulatory compliance and cross-border enforcement — the implications of the movement of people across set boundaries into other jurisdictions. An awardee of a Fulbright Commission scholarship, she has presented her findings at forums across the globe, including at the United Nations.

Her 2015-16 twelve-month Fulbright research award, additionally supported by Lloyd’s of London, took her to the United States as a research professor examining threats and risks to critical national infrastructures, with particular focus on transport modes and systems. She is internationally recognised for expertise spanning aviation, drones and autonomous systems, outer space, and emerging technologies.

A Lecturer at Leicester Law School, University of Leicester, where she has served as Acting Head of Law and Criminology and Director of the Centre of Professional Policing, she has presented to UN bodies including UNOOSA and UNODC as well as the ITU, EU and Council of Europe, and acts as a UN mentor promoting gender equality and women’s access to education, employment and technology.
