Anoop Bose
Senior lawyer, Supreme Court of India; longtime counsel to the Tata Group
Anoop Bose is an internationally reputed lawyer practising in the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court and the Calcutta High Court. Trained under Asoke Kumar Sen, the eminent jurist and former Union Law Minister, he has been legal advisor to some of India’s largest corporates, including the Tatas, Reliance, ITC and Hindustan Unilever.
His association with the House of Tata as counsel and advisor extends over 40 years, including more than 12 years advising TCS, and his client roster has included Tata Sons, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries and Indian Oil. He also works closely with embassies and high commissions in Delhi and with chambers of commerce in India and abroad, among them CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM and the US-India Chamber of Commerce.
In February 2009 he addressed a select gathering of MPs and eminent persons in the House of Lords, where he was conferred the prestigious Ambassador of Peace Award, and he was subsequently invited to speak at the House of Commons and Chatham House. Beyond the law, he is a writer and media professional associated with the Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela Peace Initiative.
