Abhilash Kumar Malik
Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Services; President’s Fire Service Medal awardee
Abhilash Kumar Malik is a fire safety professional with 29 years of experience spanning fire prevention, fire protection, fire-ground operations, search and rescue, training and community-based disaster preparedness. At the time of his NISSMAT session he was serving as Deputy Chief Fire Officer in the Delhi Fire Services, a rank he assumed in October 2020 after rising through the service as Sub-Officer, Station Officer and Divisional Fire Officer.
His career has also included assignments with reputed organizations beyond the state fire service, including Escorts Limited as Assistant Fire Officer, the Delhi Development Authority as Fire Officer and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as Manager (Fire). He is an awardee of the President’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Services (2010) and for Distinguished Services (2018).
A science graduate of Meerut University with a master’s degree in Sociology, Malik trained at the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) and holds postgraduate diplomas in Disaster Preparedness and Rehabilitation and in Fire and Life Safety Audit.
