The easy #accessibility of #weapons and lethal combination of #unemployment desperation and #firepower creates a #breeding ground for violence in the society. This requires a #comprehensive and #multifaceted approach. The #systemic issues, #law & #order deficiencies, staggering economic disparities are required to be addressed to check and control growing violence.
#police and other Govt. #agencies involved in the #criminal justice system can play an important role. The Police officers should become active members of the society to build up the #trust between police and the society at large.
The emphasis must #shift towards prevention, rather than respond to the #incidents of violence.
The criminal justice system is #virtually #collapsing. Corrective #steps have not been taken. The #judiciary should take #suo moto #action to hold the persons responsible to check Violence.
The way #media presents the #news can #influence public #perception on Violence. Thus the media can #play a #significant role in #shaping the #discourse around the police and the Violence in the Society. Instead of sensationalizing the #tragic incident of violence, the Media should create an #atmosphere of #peace and trust.
In this state of escalating violence, society should #learn a lesson that hatred begets hatred, violence #attracts violence. Only compassion,understanding, and unity can have the power to overcome growing violence.
