John Withers
Managing Director, Priority International; Polar Medal awardee
John Withers worked for long years in Northern Ireland, a region ridden with political and historical conflicts, building a career in professional investigations that began in 1991 with a five-year apprenticeship across Ireland and the United Kingdom. He is Managing Director of Priority International, a licensed agency providing investigation, intelligence and due-diligence services globally.
Alongside his investigative work, he remained posted as Magistrate of the British Antarctic Territory from 2005 to 2012, and was awarded the Polar Medal — presented by HRH Prince Charles — in recognition of his service in the polar regions, a rare distinction within the investigation profession.
Within the Council of International Investigators he serves as Secretary and as Regional Director for Ireland and the UK, and has twice been honoured with the Malcolm W. Thomson CII Memorial Award (2019 and 2024). He is also Secretary of the Irish Professional Private Investigators Association.
